Sale
I'm having a Christmas in July sale in my shop until the end of July. Use coupon code CIJ15 for 15% off anything in my Sew Upscale shop. I would love to be able to give a better percentage off but my prices are already very low.
I have a section of vintage books.
I have a section of small wall hangings.
Here is an example of one of the newer quilted fabric postcards I have. It's one of my favorites.
Whether you like the mountains, the coast or anywhere in between, I have something for everyone. If I don't have anything listed that fits your needs, I would be happy to make a custom order.
Thanks for looking!

My story
One of the Etsy teams I belong to had these three questions on one of their posts. Thought I'd share my answers.
1.Tell us your Etsy story.. how you got started in your craft and how you started selling on Etsy.
I make art gallery quality quilted fabric postcards. It was a long road before I found my niche. From the time I was about 10 years old, I have been sewing. I had always wanted to sell something I made, didn't know what. I heard about Etsy from my son, so I joined and opened a shop. I started out selling a variety of sewn items, mostly purses. One day I saw a fabric postcard online, taught myself how to make it, experimented and came up with my "style".
2. What have you learned about business since you launched your Etsy shop?
Sometimes you get discovered through Etsy. It may not be just what you sell on Etsy that makes your business a success.
3. Tell us one piece of advice for new sellers.
Join teams and participate in Etsy. Comment on the forums and in the teams you belong to. Promote by having a facebook page, twitter, Pinterest, blog. Give it some time.

So you don't know what a quilted fabric postcard is---
It is-
- A greeting card that can be sent in the mail.
- A card that can be framed when received.
- A greeting card and a gift.
- A work of art.
- A postcard that can be sent to celebrate a special occasion.

I have some new listings. Thought I would tell the story for my inspiration on a couple of them.
As my husband and I were traveling down the highway toward home, the sun started to set. It is very beautiful to see the setting sun unless you are driving into it and then it is blinding! I take every opportunity to take photos of landscape scenes so this is my interpretation of the photo I took. The sky fabric in this postcard is hand painted by me.
This postcard was inspired by my interest in history.
I try to vary my landscape postcards to include scenery from all over the United States.

Sewing Room Cleanup
My son and daughter-in-law needed to borrow some tables from me. They are using the tables for a one year birthday party for their daughter and my granddaughter. I use these tables in my sewing room.
Soooo, I thought this would be a good time to clean out my sewing room. I have to admit I have a hoarding issue especially when it comes to sewing, fabric and anything I think I might use for a craft.
Here is a picture of my newly organized and cleaned out closet and shelves--
As you can see in this picture, I still have a ways to go--
My garbage cans are full and the collection is not until Thursday. I still have one full bag of trash that needs to go out. If only I can keep my hands out of it.
And, of course, anything that could be used by anyone, went in the donation pile.
